Looking for a ginger beer recipe? Look no further! This recipe is tried and true, and will have you sipping on your own homemade ginger beer in no time.

Ingredients

  • cups freshly grated organic ginger root
  • 6 tablespoons organic granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons molasses
  • 7 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon dry active yeast
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by preparing your ingredients. Grate the ginger root and set aside. Dissolve the sugar and molasses in 4 cups of water until it is completely dissolved and then add the remaining 3 cups of water to the mixture.
  • Take a sterilized glass jar or bottle with a lid and pour the liquid into it. Add the dry active yeast, grated ginger root, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if you desire) to the jar or bottle.
  • Put on the lid securely but not too tightly so that air can escape during fermentation. Place it in a warm spot for about 24 hours for fermentation to occur.
  • After 24 hours, strain out the solids from the beer using cheesecloth or muslin cloth and transfer them into another sterile container with a lid.
  • Refrigerate the ginger beer and enjoy chilled!
